DBU Meeting
On Tuesday, April 16, MISD and Dallas Baptist University will be hosting an informational meeting for all prospective employees seeking a Master’s of Education in Educational Leadership. This is a cohort model and all coursework will be taken with the cohort at a 1/3 discount off of tuition. Face-to-face classes will meet at MISD facilities over the course of the 30-hour, non-thesis degree program. If you have some up-and-coming aspiring leaders, please talk to them about considering this program. DBU will partner with MISD and design the program around the mission and vision of MISD. A flyer with more information will be sent to staff in the coming days.
Counselor Application Pool
Administration is starting a pool for counselor applicants. The pool will open on Monday, February 25. Future counseling applicants will only be selected from the counselor applicant pool.
Assistant Principal Application Pool
The pool is now open for assistant principal applicants. Please share with your staff.

SPRING PICS
Pictures will be taken on the stage in the cafe.
PTO volunteers will help with the process.
- The class pictures are $13 and do not qualify for a discount.
- Teachers with children on campus will receive a 50% discount on individual pictures. You can write it on the packet.
- Each teacher will receive a class photo. There will be four extra for those who wish to pay for one after the fact.
- We will start at 7:50. Schedule coming soon.
- Teachers will be given a class group collection envelope. There will . be a picture day "instruction" sheet for you.
- Class pictures will done first with individual pictures next. Classes should arrive for individual pictures in alphabetical order.
- Picture packets will go home 2-22.

March: Texas History Month, in honor of those Texans who helped
shape the history of the state of Texas and in recognition of events
throughout Texas’s history. Texas History Month shall be regularly
observed by appropriate celebrations and activities in public
schools to promote interest in and knowledge of Texas history.
We will set up EOY conferences with each teacher.
Teacher shares artifacts and evidence with appraiser at least 5 days prior to the End of Year Conference.
Teacher completes the Teacher Self-Assessment and Goal Setting Part 2 and Professional Development Plan prior to End of Year conference.
Identify potential goals and professional development activities for the next school year.

Day, in recognition of education paraprofessionals including teach-
er assistants, instructional aides, educational trainers, library at-

tors, and tutors. Public School Paraprofessional Day shall be
regularly observed by appropriate ceremonies and activities in the
public schools to properly recognize the paraprofessionals who
have made tremendous contributions to the educational process.

EOY CONFERENCES WILL BEGIN
April: Child Safety Month, in recognition of the children of this state
as this state’s most precious resource. Child Safety Month is meant
to ensure that the children of this state grow up in a safe and sup-
portive environment by promoting their protection and care through
increased public awareness of ways to reduce accidental injury
and death through the use of bicycle helmets, seat belts, safety
and booster seats, and smoke alarms, and the dangers presented
to children by unattended and unlocked vehicles and by being left
in closed vehicles during hot or sunny weather. Child Safety Month
may be regularly observed by appropriate celebrations and activi-
ties in public schools to promote the protection and care of children
in this state.
