Dear Warwick Parents,
I want to make sure that you are all aware of the school steps that lead to next year's student classroom assignments.
The professional staff are involved in placement decisions for our students. Classroom teachers are asked to summarize the academic and social growth of the students in their classes in preparation for classroom placement decisions. The entire grade level team cooperates with the Student Support Counselor, Reading Specialists, and me to determine each individual child’s placement. The whole team takes part in creating combinations of children to form balanced classrooms. The classes are designed to be heterogeneous with a wide range of characteristics, needs, and abilities (academic, social and emotional). We carefully examine the strengths, needs, and personalities within each homeroom group. The grade level team reviews each child’s needs in relation to the classroom groups created. Once we believe the classrooms are well balanced, the teachers have completed their part of the process.
Following the completion of the professional staff phases, I review the class groupings again, but from a school-wide perspective to match the class with a specific teacher.
Students will have an opportunity to meet the teachers of the next grade level on Move-Up Day.
If you have information about your child’s learning style that you feel is important for the Warwick placement team to have prior to placement, please send an e-mail to me (aadelman@cbsd.org) that includes that information on or before Monday, May 1st. While we value and consider any information you provide and will give it careful consideration, there is no guarantee about specific placement requests. Please be sure to meet the May 1st deadline.
Please do not request a teacher or request that specific students be placed with your child.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Amy M. Adelman
Warwick Principal

Warwick Esports Club Update
The Warwick Esports Club has held two sessions of competitive building challenges in Minecraft. During the first session, members were introduced to the club format and took part in their first competitive build independently. Members voted for the trophy they thought was best and we had two winners: Mia and Alexandra. During Session 2, members reviewed the results of Session 1 and took part in their second competitive build. Club members brainstormed what stood out among the winners in the first session and agreed on the following qualities: Neatness, Realistic, Creative, Unique, and Organized. With this in mind, for the second challenge, they worked with a randomly assigned partner, or partners, to plan and build a treehouse. They were given a time constraint and basic guidelines. Partners worked to build their treehouse, all in the same Minecraft world. Club members voted for the treehouse they liked the best. The winning pair was Alexandra and Gavin, hoisting the trophy below! Tied for second place were partners Kat and Dania, and a group of three featuring Sanvi, Mia, and Colin!
Field Day Volunteer Information
Hello Warwick Families! Field Day is fast approaching on Friday June 2nd with a rain date of June 9th. We are looking for parents who would like to volunteer their time to come run a station on this fantastic day.
The time slots are split between morning (AM) and afternoon (PM). If you want to come for the full day, you can sign up for both time slots. It is also broken down by grades (K, 1-2, and 3-6) so you can choose which grade level you would like to work with.
We ask that you make sure you can be available both days (June 2nd and the rain date of June 9th) before you sign up for a time slot. We never know what the weather will bring at the end of the year.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Kelly Langlois at klanglois@cbsd.org.
