Early Life and Backround

Gilbert Anthony Cedillo was born March 25, 1954. in Barstow California. Cedillo grew up in the Boyle Heights area of Los Angeles. His Father worked as a Mechanic and his mother worked as a garment worker. Cedillo attended Lorena Street and Euclid Avenue Elementary, Stevenson Junior High and Roosevelt High. He was a varsity quarterback and was academically excelled. He got a scholarship to the University of California, Los Angeles. Cedillo graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology in 1977 and received a Juris Doctor degree from the Peoples College of Law, a law school in Los Angeles, in 1983.

Gilbert Cedillo has been State Senator of California since 2002 and is still running, even at his old age of 61 years. He is also the leading force behind legislation of giving illegal aliens drivers licenses. He has also created the Dream Act(AB 130), which helps students get into college.
