The Scarlet Ibis

In the short story "The Scarlet Ibis" the setting was in the 1913's-1020's. It was in a southern place/at the beach. The characters in "The Scarlet Ibis" the little boy his name was Doodle. There was Doodles big brother, but his name was not minchened in the short story. The conflict of the story is is the brothers inibility ro deal with Doodles disibilities. His concern was for himself then Doodle. When Doodle is born the big brother considers killing him because he is "not right". I think "Pride" is the theme of ther story because pride is linked with shame and embarrassment over his little brother Doodle, which has a disibility. "Pride Is Harmful". the big brother was so ashamed to haev a brother like that, he even considered smothering him with a pillow. A meaningful quote to me in the short story "The Scarlet Ibis" was "I did not know then that pride is a wonderful, terrible thing, a seed that bears two vines, life and death." Some examples of figurative language is "Personification","Similie",and "Symbolism".
