Week of May 23
Class Newsletter
So many goals to accomplish and time is just flying by...but we will make it.
May I thank all of you for your loving thoughts and beautiful prayers. God has seen that I even return to work for a few days before the year ends.
There will be at least a couple of days during the week that I will be teaching. And Ms. Lauren Hillard has graciously agreed to substitute for me on the days I won't be teaching.
Here's the run down for the week.
BOOK FAIR on Wed. & Thurs. from 12:00 (noon) till 3:00 PM
CONFERENCES
Wednesday, May 25; and Thursday, May 26 will be Early Dismissal days for conferences. Extended Care will be available for both days.
MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND
No Classes on Friday, May 27 and Monday May 30. This makes for a nice long Memorial Day weekend. So here's hoping that the sun decides to stay out and shine.
Religion: We have finished our Sacrament book and are now back to the regular Religion textbook and Bible stories. We wrapped up Unit 1 which are Chapters 1-4
Math: Chapter 17 is all about lines and angles. We will identify different kinds of lines and angles. Help your child with acute angles, right angles, obtuse angles; parallel lines, and perpendicular lines. We will learn to use a protractor to draw and measure angles.
Reading: We just finished reading Because of Winn Dixie by Katie DiCamillo. A bittersweet story of friendship between a girl and her new-found dog, and between people forming new friendships. We will watch the movie and compare the book and DVD.
Our next chapter book is Stuart Little by E.B. White.
