Depression * Written by Dr. J. D. Schultz

What is Depression?

Depression is not just a day or two of sadness. When you have depression you are not just depressed, you are sad all the time. And I mean all the time. Depression is a non-communicable disease. Here are some ways to tell if you have depression

  • sad
  • low in energy
  • loss or gain of weight
  • thinking of suicide
  • tired but can not sleep
Depression affects people's mind and body. But the sad thing about depression is that only 1/3 of the people with depression receive treatment. People think they are hopeless and that there is no cure. Depression can change your point of view. You think less of yourself.
