Thank you to all of the parents, students, coaches, Boosters, and community members who showed up to support the team as they played for the state championship! Thank you also to all of the staff members, parents, and Boosters who helped with logistics for the day so we could host our first state championship game.

Congratulations are also in order for the GHS marching band. This weekend they competed at the Idaho State University Mountain West Marching Band Festival. The Raptors took second place in the competition with the highest overall score in the Visual Performance category! Great job, marching band!

You can see the marching band in action at their final Homeshow performance this Tuesday, November 1 at VanWinkle Stadium at 6:00pm. You can also see them at this link when they performed at MSU a few weeks ago.

Student Drop Off

We are aware there are challenges with the flow of traffic around Gallatin High School as well as with access to parking. Here are some things you can do to help.

  1. Please use the zones indicated in the image below for student drop off.
  2. Please do not use staff parking lots for student drop off. This creates additional congestion and prevents staff members from getting to meetings at other schools and picking up their own children.
  3. Please avoid using the bus lane from 7:45a.m.-8:30p.m. and from 3:30p.m.-4:15p.m. It is fine to use this area during the school day, but not during the times when buses are present.
  4. Please feel free to contact the City of Bozeman with your concerns about larger traffic flow issues around the school. The more comments the receive, the higher intersections move up on their priority list.

Speech and Debate Judges Needed

This year, Bozeman High School and Gallatin High School are hosting a Speech and Debate tournament on November 11th- November 12th. We are in critical need of judges and are hoping to have community members within the Bozeman area involved in our competition. This is an excellent opportunity to witness some of our future leaders, entrepreneurs, and performers, as well as give feedback on how they can improve in their ventures. Anyone over the age of 20 is qualified to judge Speech and Debate as the only qualification is being able to judge if a speech/performance is good or if a debate is convincing. If you can judge or review a show or movie, you can judge Speech and Debate.

The commitment would be for a 2 hour period as judge slots are scheduled for 2 hours at a time. All are encouraged to sign up for one or more judge slots. The tournament will run from 4:00pm-10:00pm on Friday November 11th and from 8:00am-12:00pm and 2:00pm-6:00pm on Saturday November 12th.

Here is the Link to sign up to judge for our tournament: http://bit.ly/bozjudge22

Last Chance to See the Fall Play

The second weekend showing of the fall play is this weekend. This year's play is a combined play with actors and crew from both GHS and BHS working together on the show. The play is a hilarious farce and is showing in the BHS auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at this link or at the door. Hope to see you there!

Students-make sure to get your fall activity passport punched if you attend so you can enter your passport in the drawing for prizes!

Advanced Culinary's TV Debut

Last year, Advanced Culinary students from both BHS and GHS were invited by Chef Matt Zeglen to be on a HBO show called "The Big Brunch"!

Our students watched a demonstration from Matt with a past ProStart student and got to try some olive oils, answer and ask questions, and experience a full production TV show!

The first 3 episodes air on HBO on Nov. 10th and 3 more episodes on the 17th. Our students will most likely be featured within one of those 6 episodes.
