Sabercat Update
Message from Mrs. Koop
It is hard to believe we are halfway through October. We are finally able to settle into the rhythm of school. There have definitely been some growing pains for some of our students as they have adjusted to the structure and expectations of in person learning.
As we get back to the business of learning, we have seen a definite uptick of disrespectful behavior from years' past. Some of our students have forgotten your expectations and our behavioral expectations when they arrive on campus. Please take a moment to sit with your child and remind them of your expectations. We appreciate your continued partnership with us as we strive to prepare them for the future.
I also want to share a policy we are instituting in our library. As a result of meeting with our librarian to discuss a book in our library, I learned that some schools require permission for students to check out young adult books. Going forth we are requiring permission for students to check out young adult books from our school library.
Please click on the link below if you wish to grant permission. If you do not fill out the form, your child will not be able to check out the young adult genre of books.
Lastly, just a reminder, advisory lessons are not optional. We have allowed ample time for students to complete the advisory assignments. This is considered "Closing the Gap" time and is a required time in the day to close the instructional gaps created the last year and a half. We are holding students accountable for completing as we work to remediate and/or enrich our students.
We look forward to a fantastic fall!
