We are quickly approaching the end of the year. Prom this past weekend was an awesome event and the students really enjoyed themselves. Also, Extended School Year (Summer School) letters were mailed home for students who may need to recover credits. If your student needs to recover credit, please plan on them attending.

Welcome Mr. Hayes, Assistant Principal
Mr. Hayes began his teaching career at Fivay High School in 2010 after graduating from the University of South Florida. In his 5 years at FHS, he taught Physical Science, Biology, and AP Biology. Mr. Hayes was also the baseball coach and the class sponsor for the class of 2015. In the fall of 2015, he began teaching at Zephyrhills High School, where he was a graduate in 2005. At ZHS, Mr. Hayes taught science and began his master’s course work in Educational Leadership at St. Leo University. In 2018, Mr. Hayes become an Assistant Principal at ZHS. As an administrator, Mr. Hayes oversaw the science department, athletics, and Advanced Placement. He also oversaw the renovation at Zephyrhills High School. His hobbies include, running, hiking, watching the Rays, and spending time with his wife and 2 kids. We are excited to have Mr. Hayes join the Wildcat Team!

Fall Dual Enrollment

Remember, you must have a PHSC application on file and have activated your PHSC email to complete the form. All new DE students need to complete the PHSC orientation and online readiness course as well.

Seniors, please start looking around your house, room, and car for items that belong to WCHS and return them to school to avoid being on the debt list.
The Senior Graduation Fee is $75 and can be paid on Rycor/Student Pay. You can pay this now on https://www.studentquickpay.com/pasco/. This graduation fee is due on May 26th, the second day of the required Graduation Practice and Senior Checkout.

Seniors, please complete the following form so that we can order your cap and gown and diploma! You will need to know your height so that we can order your gown appropriately. Make sure that you capitalize and punctuate your name correctly, with all your names capitalized and periods after an initial. For example, my name on a diploma could read:

Travel Opportunity
Mrs. Cullum will be leading an exciting trip to Belize over Spring Break, 2024. Over 6 days, participants will be exploring Mayan ruins, ziplining through the jungles, snorkeling in pristine tropical waters, and spotting exotic animals during a night jungle hike! This trip is open to all high school-aged students (as of March, 2024), their families, and, of course, past graduates!

District School Board of Pasco County Intent to Advertise
Need more customers? Advertise with WCHS! Each year thousands of people come to events on our campus and see advertisements for local businesses. This is an opportunity to get affordable advertising and help out the students of WCHS. Banners are printed by the school using your artwork with several sponsorship options. The term of the advertisement is one full year.

YEARBOOK INFO
If you preordered a yearbook on or before January 23rd, pick it up now in Room 327 before school, during your lunch, or after school. You must pick up your book by May 17th. Books not picked up by May 17th will be refunded and made available for purchase to students on the wait list.
Students who purchased after January 23rd and students on the wait list, we will begin contacting you as soon as books become available.
Film Festival
The WCHS Film Festival is at 7:00pm Tuesday night May 9, 2023. Come see films by our school’s most brilliant filmmakers and discover who will win this year’s coveted prize of “Best Picture.” Tickets $4.00, available on GoFan.
Peers As Partners in Learning 2023-24
Peers As Partners in Learning applications are now being accepted for the 23-24 school year. Peers As Partners in Learning is an elective course designed for students who want to work with individuals who have special learning needs. Peer As Partners work with a variety of students in different settings on our campus. Open for juniors and seniors. Parent and teacher recommendations are needed. Applications are due by May 12th to room 430 or to Mrs. Fagan’s mailbox. Applications can be found in student services and in room 430. Current Peers must reapply or see Mrs. Fagan.

Saint Leo U Men’s Basketball Hosting Summer Day Camp for Boys, Girls
Grades 2 – 12 Invited to June 5 – 8 Camp; Morning, Afternoon Sessions Offered
ST. LEO, FL – Saint Leo University’s men’s basketball program announced the first of its annual summer camps. The day camp will take place June 5 – 8 and is for boys and girls in second grade through high school in the Marion Bowman Activities Center at the university, 33701 County Road 52 (formerly State Road 52), St. Leo, FL 33574.
There will be two sessions: 9 a.m. to noon and 1 – 4 p.m. There will be separate divisions based on age groups. The camps will focus on shooting, perimeter skills, and footwork, and there will be games and contests. Each morning session will primarily include skill and fundamental work. Each afternoon session consists primarily of live competition and gameplay. Campers will have the option to sign up for either session individually or sign up for both sessions. Check-in times for registered campers will depend on which session campers sign up for and be communicated via email from Coach Spencer Henke as camp approaches. Pizza orders will be available for lunch each day if campers will be attending both sessions and on campus for lunch. Cost is $180 for morning or afternoon sessions only or $310 for both.

Pawprints is WCHS very own newspaper with tons of different stories ranging from arts and entertainment to student life and more.
