School Wide Holiday Sharing Drive
It's the time of year that National Honor Society and Student Government work together on ACMA's annual Holiday Sharing Drive. This year we will be collecting gloves and socks!! We will be trying to fill up any area in Mr. Paige's office so he will need to work somewhere else in the building!! Please help us out!!
We will begin our glove/sock drive on Monday, December 4th and conclude on Tuesday, December 19th. In order to be of assistance, we will be coming out to the front of the building every morning as parents drop off students for school to ask if you brought your gloves or socks. We will be happy to collect the items from you at that time.
Thank you for everything that you do for ACMA. We appreciate your participation in this event so we can provide these items to the homeless, our own students who need them and other organizations upon request. Thanks again and I'm pretty sure I'll see you as you drop off your student in mornings!!
Happy Holidays,
Jill Starling
Note from the ACMA PTO
Dear ACMA Families!
Happy holiday season! As you think of charitable gifts this season, we hope you will put ACMA PTO on your list. We are in the heart of our Write-a-Check fundraising campaign and need your support.
Every family at ACMA is a member of the PTO, a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization formed solely to support our school and students needs. We step in when district funding is lacking or unavailable and when our school has incredible enrichment opportunities for our students and staff. The PTO is turning to our members to ask for your generous financial support so that we can do more, and meet the growing needs of our school and students; from need-based scholarships, to summer programs to teacher requests for supplies or field trips. Our goal is to raise $50 per student and to have 100% of our families participate in this campaign.
Please go online to https://acmapto.wixsite.com/acmapto and donate through our PayPal button. Or you may fill out the form below, write a check and have your student drop these two things off in the main office. Cash can be placed in an envelope with the form and also taken to the main office. We are asking you to contribute $50 for each student in your family attending ACMA, but please know that whether you send $5 or $500, we are grateful for any amount you can share with us. Your donation is a charitable contribution that may be deducted from your taxes. You will receive a receipt letter with the ACMA PTO Tax ID number for your accounting.
Thank you!
Nicole, Carol, Lisa, Damarise, Linda and Catherine - ACMA PTO Board.
Also from the PTO...
On April 14th, the ACMA PTO will host the biggest night of the year for ACMA, the 15th Annual Auction.

It's that time again -- time to start thinking about the Ashland field trip! This is a fabulous and fun opportunity to travel to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, see three amazing plays, make new friends, bond with old ones, and hang out on a bus for many hours with Mr. Albertson and Ms. Fanning!

First Thursday Gallery Walk
On Nov 2, NAHS (National Art Honor Society) students took a field trip to Portland's Pearl District for First Thursday, when galleries open their new exhibits to the public. We started at Gallery 114, which featured a show of drawings by well-known Portland artists. The show's curator, Mark Andres, a well-respected drawing instructor from PCC-Rock Creek, and several of the featured artists were gracious enough to meet with us, discussing their ideas and answering our questions.
From there, we journeyed to Basic Space, Blue Sky, Thomas Hartman, Augen and Froelick galleries, where a variety of photographs, paintings, sculptures, multi-media constructions and drawings were on view. The art was engaging, as was the level of interest shown by the students. This was the first gallery crawl for our NAHS crew, but based on this experience, it won't be our last!

Inclement Weather Information
When the weather gets snowy or icy, school schedules may be affected. The District generally posts the announcement of delayed school opening or school closure by 5:15 a.m. All Portland Metro area media outlets announce the information on TV newscasts and online.

The decision that is made will be for the entire District. As always, parents may choose to make different decisions based on their particular location.
The District will notify parents via SchoolMessenger with a Non-School Hours Emergency message. Please manage your communication preferences in SchoolMessenger InfoCenter.
