St. John Nepomuk Catholic School
Mission Statement
News from the Principal
Dear Saint John Nepomuk Families,
Wow! What an amazing first four days of school! We are off to a wonderful start, and I am honored to serve as your principal. I am in awe of how our school staff members have poured their hearts into preparing for the year and have focused all efforts on making our school the best place to be! We are also beyond blessed to have the best parents and families at St. John. Thank you for your enthusiasm, your support and sharing your most prized possession, your child, with us. It is nice and all feels normal again by having my 205 "children" back at school! While the exhaustion is at an all time high, our hearts are full, and we're eager to see these falcons soar!
Please remember to make plans to attend these important and informative sessions on Monday evening beginning at 6:00 pm. Each homeroom teacher has been busy preparing to share all things related to curriculum, procedures, expectations and information for their classroom to help parents navigate the year ahead. I will also host a session to review important school updates. We ask that parents only attend this evening. The evening will be divided into several sessions. Parents are asked to rotate to the homeroom teacher(s) that have their child(ren) for the upcoming year. I will host a required session in Marian Hall. It is important for parents to understand how and why certain procedures are followed in their child’s classroom and this evening will be their opportunity to find out and ask questions if needed.

Auction Update
The FIRST Auction Free Dress Day is next Thursday on August 23. Be sure to take part in this FUNdraiser for our auction while your child(ren) enjoy ten extra FREE DRESS DAYS this school year. To participate, families are asked for a $50 donation for single child families or $100 donation for multi child families. You can make your donation online by clicking HERE. Thanks for your support!
We are also still on the search for someone to serve as the chairperson for Sponsorships and Ads. This is an integral part of generating additional income for our event. By serving in this role, you automatically meet the Care & Share requirement for the school year. If you have questions about the responsibilities or if you are willing to volunteer in this capacity, please contact Mrs. Natalie Johnson or our Auction leadership team at sjnokauction@gmail.com.
Recycle Rally Program
We are pleased to inform you that our school will be participating in this year’s Recycle Rally!
What is Recycle Rally?
- Recycle Rally is a nationwide school recycling program designed to raise awareness among K-12 students about the importance of recycling. It is sponsored by PepsiCo Recycling and can offer our school opportunities to earn valuable supplies and prizes as we teach our students the importance of recycling throughout the year. What’s more, when we recycle bottles and cans through Recycle Rally, we provide dedicated support to post-9/11 U. S. veterans with disabilities through PepsiCo Recycling’s partnership with the Entrepreneurship for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV), as well as help support The Nature Conservancy’s efforts to protect watersheds, which are nature’s filtration system for our drinking water.
What will my child be asked to do?
- Students will be encouraged to recycle non-alcoholic beverage containers (plastic bottles marked with “#1 PETE” on the bottom and aluminum cans) at school to help our school earn rewards. Upon collection, we will tally and track the number of bags of recyclables to earn rewards points that can be redeemed on merchandise and supplies to help support our recycling program. Students may also be asked to volunteer to help promote our recycling effort or to help tally our recycling totals. This will provide a great hands-on experience for our students to learn new skills. If your student might be interested in getting involved, please let me know.
How can I help?
- We hope you’ll join us in making this year’s Recycle Rally a success by encouraging your child to get involved! If you find yourself in a place where recycling is not available, such as a store or park, please do not throw your bottles and cans away. Save them and have your child recycle them at school so we can earn more rewards points.
Where can I learn more about this program?
- Feel free to check out the program’s website for details including the complete terms and conditions of participation and how your students’ actions will make an impact. The website also includes some great tools and tips for making this program a successful one, so please visit PepsiCoRecycling.com/Programs/RecycleRally.

Athletics Update
I hope everyone's week has went well so far. I would like to extend a invitation to anyone who hasn't yet signed up for soccer and volleyball to please do so by Tuesday, August 21st. The soccer and volleyball seasons are quickly approaching and we want everyone to have the opportunity to play if they are interested.
Volleyball preparations and practices for our middle school students have been happening since July. Once practice times are confirmed for soccer, we will communicate information to coaches and families. Have a Great Rest of your Week and Weekend!
