DO YOU KNOW THE HISTORY OF MOTHER'S DAY

Mother's Day was started as a tribute to one woman, the mother of Anna Reeves Jarvis who died on May 9, 1905, in West Virginia. The celebration was held at Andrews Methodist Episcopal Church. President Woodrow Wilson later made it a national holiday in 1914, to be celebrated each second Sunday in May. The official Mother's Day flower is the carnation.

Join us on the INNIS playground for hotdogs, chips, and drinks. Participate in outdoor activities, obtain summer learning resources, sign up for library cards and summer reading, and obtain free books.


In addition, if you have a business and would like to promote it, please let us know by May 12. Your child will be bringing home a KICKOFF FLYER, please fill it out and return it to the school by May 12.
