CTE: SPORTS VEHICLE/SMALL ENGINES REPAIR & NAPA KNOW HOW-Auto Labs
What is CTE?
What makes CTE courses different from all the rest? It is the hands on educational approach to learning-allowing the learner to focus on developing “soft” and “craft” skillsets while mastering Colorado, D51 CTE and Industry standards. CTE courses are performance based meaning the student must DEMOSTRATE continued GROWTH and MASTERY of the tasks.
Goals
Students will explore and demonstrate mastery of the following levels and topics.
Fundamental courses for all levels of technicians covering the foundational subjects specific to Briggs & Stratton products
Topics:
A complete program covering the fundamentals of all Four Cycle Engine operation
Program covers all Briggs & Stratton ignition systems
A robust program covering all facets of fuel systems, carburetors and gasoline
An introduction to governor systems: air vane (pneumatic), mechanical, electric governors, governor droop, troubleshooting, and adjustments.
NAPA-Know How: Maintenance and Repair Lessons.
Intermediate level courses for all technicians covering a broad assortment of subjects specific to Briggs & Stratton products.
Topics:
Charging - Alternating Current (AC) Volts Tests
AC Volts test procedures for Briggs & Stratton alternator systems.
EFI 3 Cylinder Liquid cooled Operation and Service Videos
Charging - Direct Current (DC) Amperage Tests
DC Amps test procedures for Briggs & Stratton alternator systems.
A complete program covering induction theory and alternator operation and testing
Diode and Diode Harness Testing
Test procedures for all Briggs & Stratton alternator systems which include diodes in the wiring harness.
A series of videos explaining different diagnostics approaches: quick check, quick flow, compression, and carburetion diagnostics.
Intermediate level carburetion, fixed jets, emulsion tubes and fuel systems
Failure Analysis can be a difficult task. This course will cover the most common failures including abrasive ingestion, insufficient lubrication, overheating, and breakage.
Advanced (Coming Soon)
Technically advanced courses for experienced technicians covering in-depth subjects specific to Briggs & Stratton products.
Topics:
A brief explanation of everything required to properly setup and service propane fueled units.
An in-depth look at how the fuel pressure regulator functions and interacts within the system.
Video covering the complete operation of Diesel Engine Theory
How to properly calibrate the fuel pressure regulator for optimum performance.
