The Greene Devil Weekly News

Message from Mrs. Adams
I hope your family had a wonderful Easter weekend! It's hard to believe we have less than eight weeks of school left! We want to finish our remaining weeks of school on a healthy note. Our goal is to maintain a safe and healthy environment for our students and staff. Please review a few reminders from the GCS Framework for Safe Reopening of Schools to help us ensure a safe and healthy environment:
- All students shall wear a cloth face covering, covering the nose and mouth, while inside the building.
- Students should wash hands and/or use hand sanitizer upon entry to the school, when entering a classroom, before eating, and regularly throughout the day.
- Parents/guardians should check student temperatures at home every morning using a thermometer. Students with a temperature of 100 or above should stay home and consider COVID-19 testing if no other explanation is available.
- Parents/guardians should ask their children and monitor them for any cough, sore throat, congestion, shortness of breath, gastrointestinal symptoms (vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, etc.), or loss of taste or smell every morning. A student who exhibits any of the symptoms listed above should prompt the parent to keep the student home from school and seek testing and medical evaluation.
Please review the GCS Framework for Safe Reopening of Schools for more information: https://www2.gcschools.net/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=1831121&type=d&pREC_ID=1986860.
Thank you for your continued support of GMS,
Mrs. Rachel Adams
Principal

Important Message from GSIA
We need you! The GMS GSIA is looking for parents/guardians to be a part of the 2021-2022 GSIA Board. We currently have openings that we need to fill for Co-Vice Presidents, a Secretary, a 6th and 8th grade representative. We also need volunteers to help with the 8th grade dance in May.
What do these roles involve? The Co-Vice Presidents will assist the Co-Presidents in whatever means necessary to prepare them to step into the Co-Presidents role the next fiscal year and responsible for the Spring Fling fundraiser. The secretary is responsible for taking notes and distributing them to the board members for approval at each board meeting. The 6th and 8th grade representatives will take on the responsibility of that specific grade teacher appreciation and TCAP testing snacks, etc. All are voting positions
.
Studies show that parental involvement in their child’s education is one of the most important factors in raising student self-esteem and academic achievement. We realize, however, that each of our families is unique with it’s own priorities, needs, and time constraints, but this is an opportunity that you and your child will never forget.
Help us make a difference in the children of TODAY for the adults of TOMORROW!
Please email
Nicole Rader at gpdaux@gmail.com or
Carla Burton at carla.burton4@gmail.com
to further discuss being on the GSIA Board or if you are interested in volunteering.
HAPPY SPRING!!!
Please help support GMS by supporting GSIA !
Use this form to give a shout out to one of our GMS staff members for a job well done! Complete the form and administration will share the praise!
