On The base of the pyramid are breads, cereals, rice, and pasta recommendation of 6 to 11 servings should be eaten daily

the next levels up are the vegetables which you should have a recommendation of 3 to 5 servings daily and fruits have a recommendation of 2 to 4 serving daily

Followed by the dairy and meat. It is recommended that you get 2 to 3 dairy servings daily. next including meats, eggs, nuts and, dry beans get 2 to 3 servings daily

Fats oils and sweets are the apex with a recommendation that they be eaten sparingly

Reasons for eating the food groups and why they vary

Depending on your age physical activity level and whether you are trying to lose weight these numbers may vary.

Eating the correct amount of servings from each food group will help you to maintain the weight you have by eating and burning the same amount of calories.

But be careful not to eat to much because if you do you will not burn more calories than you eat you will begin to gain weight.

As well the reason why the servings vary is for age physical activity and also if you are considering dieting.

  • Vitamins and minerals in the diet are vital to boost immunity and healthy development
