QUICK AND TO THE POINT... UPDATES FROM DPS #61
As previously announced on Friday, October 30:
DPS administration continues to work with principals, teachers, and staff to plan for a return to in-person learning, which could happen as early as the beginning of the third quarter on January 4, 2021. However, we will also continue to monitor our community’s health factors to make that determination. An announcement will be made on Friday, December 4, 2020, about third quarter learning.
Parent Selection for When Students Return Back to School by November 13
Parents Must Make A Selection for In-Person vs. Virtual Learning for each child using Skyward Family Access so we can better plan for when we do welcome students back to school. If you need assistance, contact your school's office.
To help you make your selection, you can view the District's COVID-19 Health and Safety Protocols plan by clicking here. Students for whom a selection is not made will automatically be placed in virtual learning only.
November Heart of the District Winners!
What nominators said about our Heart Award Winners:
Lilly is a hard working student, who always is positive and helpful with her classmates. Not only is she a great student and great classmate, but she has been a dedicated Student Council member for three years while at Johns Hill Magnet School. She helps come up with great ideas to help at the school and the community. She deserves to be recognized.
-Nominated by a staff member
Google would show Nichole’s picture in a search for “exceptionally competent” and “highly personable”. She has an amazing work ethic, often responding to help desk tickets well after her work day ends. She responds quickly to building needs, and if she can’t solve them, she is relentless in her pursuit of someone who can. She is an absolute blessing to DPS, and we are PROUD to have her on our team at Pershing.
-Nominated by an administrator

Anyone may submit nomination, as long as the nominee is NOT a family member. These awards are not intended to be a popularity contest. Those submitting nominations are encouraged to consider the impact the nominee has on students, staff, and our district community. Nominations will be reviewed by a committee monthly, and winners will be featured in a future DOT newsletter!
