A Message from Dr. Melissa Williams-Scott

Welcome to the 2015-2016 School Year. It is the Year of The Gator and the 125th Birthday of Dickinson ISD. I can only imagine what those first teachers would think of the classroom of today. And while much of the classroom looks different, we should take a lesson from our predecessors: Put those students to work! No, they won’t be cleaning the erasers, but there are so many opportunities for students to help guide instruction with the technology options in your classroom. The level of engagement will go up, and just like us, students enjoy learning from their peers. We, in the Technology Department, look forward to working with you and your students this year. Go Gators!!

Reminder: Please Do Not Move Technology Equipment

This is a friendly reminder not to move technology equipment without submitting a technology work order. The equipment may not work in the new location, and network drops may need to be adjusted. Also, inventory must be accounted for in the process.

Submitting Technology Work Orders Has Never Been Easier

We are now accepting Technolgoy Work Orders through Eduphoria Help Desk so that you can easily submit requests without calling Extension 6028 or emailing helpdesk@dickinsonisd.org.

Elementary Technology Integration Specialist

My name is Jennifer Rushing, and I am super excited about joining Dickinson ISD and becoming a Gator! I have been in education for 11 years. I have taught Special Education, 4th Grade, and Technology Applications. I have a love for teaching and molding young minds as well as a passion for technology. I believe by blending the two, we can accomplish great things here in Dickinson ISD. Starting on September 14th, I will be on the Elementary Campuses and Barber Middle school to help integrate technology into your curriculum and classroom activities. If you have ever been afraid to try a new digital tool or implement a piece of technology into your curriculum, now is the time to try. You can schedule a time with the link below for me to come and assist you with the many digital tools that Dickinson ISD has to offer or just to try something new. I would like to attend your planning meetings when possible so that I can support the classroom digitally and spread all my techie love!

If you need help with lesson ideas, how to use a digital tool, or want some help trying something new, please schedule me. I will be on campuses weekly starting September 21st. While I know a lot about technology, I am a teacher first and can share ideas from all of the digital resources available in Dickinson ISD.
