The Starside Communication August 14, 2020
Our Starside Mission:
Through a collaborative learning community we will build a foundation upon which all students can develop essential academic and life skills.
A Message from Principal Meyer
In a few weeks, we will welcome over 450 students to the start of the 2020-2021 academic school year. We look forward to connecting with our new and returning Comets, be that in person or remotely.
We use several different avenues to celebrate our student successes and provide important information about activities and events; the USD232/Starside website, Skyward emails – including our weekly newsletter (Starside's Comet), and our new Facebook page @ Starside Comets. We will also send important time-sensitive information via the district text message service.
The district will provide two different learning models this school year: Onsite and Optional Remote. Information about the models can be found on the district website, or in the Starside-specific flyer, below. The week of August 17, USD 232 will communicate with families regarding the learning model on-site students will return to (hybrid, remote, or full in-person). This decision will be based on the Johnson County Gating Criteria, which can also be found in the Reopening Schools Criteria 2020 PDF, below.
For families new to the district or those needing assistance with enrollment or the learning model selection process, please call us at 913-667-6270. We may be able to assist you over the phone or schedule an in-person appointment. Our office hours (by appointment only) are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
At Starside, we will rise to the occasion - no matter where we are when school starts! I assure you, we will come out of this pandemic stronger in the end.
