July Update

Camp Dates

Percussion Camp, July 25-29, 9 am - 4pm

  • Please read email from Mr. Ponseti sent 7/20/22 for additional info.
  • The drumline will be performing on Friday, July 29th for new to Comal ISD teacher orientation. Call time is 7:45 am on Friday.

SLT Camp July 28th - 30th, 9 am - 4 pm,
  • Cost is now $62.50 payable to Davenport Band Boosters. Please bring your check or cash to the first day of our SLT Camp on July 28th.
  • Please bring lunch and your instrument if you are a soloist

Summer Band begins for ALL August 1st, Monday - Friday, most days 8 am - 4 pm, DHS

TMF Uniform Order Pickup and Store Reopen

Order placed in June can be picked up Friday, July 29th between 3 pm - 4 pm. Band shoes that were ordered at registration will also be distributed. We will be on campus during the day on Saturday, July 30th if you are not available on Friday. Please contact us to set up a time on Saturday if Friday does not work for your family.


The TMF webstore is open again if you need to order anything. Jackets and fanny packs have been added to the store. Only letter jackets and the jacket on the TMF webstore are allowed to be worn in the stands at football games once it gets cold. It will close on August 2nd at midnight. These orders will arrive before our first football game on August 26th. Here is a link to the store.

Band Calendar Update

Click here for the band calendar for the 2022-2023 school year. We have adjusted a few of our August rehearsal after receiving an updated professional development calendar. Here are all the changes we made.
  • August 9 adding Drumline only performance at DHS teacher professional development, 9 am call time
  • August 10 is now 5 pm - 8pm
  • August 12 is now 8 am - 4 pm
  • August 17 is now Lupercal Night Pep Rally Performance only, no morning or afternoon rehearsal


Please make sure to leave these dates open for marching contest next Fall.

  • October 1 - USBands Hill Country Regional
  • October 8 - Comal Classic Marching Festival
  • October 15 - UIL Region Marching Competition
  • October 29 - UIL Area Marching Competition
  • November 5 - USBands San Antonio Finale
  • November 9 - UIL State Marching Contest

Physicals

All students will need to have a physical completed after May 1st, 2022 to participate in Marching Band for the 2022-2023 school year. The Comal ISD Pre-Participation form music be used. You can find the form here.

Letter Jacket Orders for Winter Guard

All members of the 2022 Winter Guard will be able to order a letter jacket on Thursday, August 4th at 4 pm in the band hall. Please be on the lookout for an email from Herff Jones early next week with info on ordering.
