Winter Wonderland At Ely!!
Dear Ely Families,
We are only a couple weeks away from our Holiday Break. Our students have been making so much progress this school year. Our after school tutoring program recently started up and our students are showing amazing progress. As always if you ever have any questions or concerns about your child's progress please reach out to your child's teacher.
This past month we had several different activities that our students participated in. We were able to celebrate some of the great achievements that our students have achieved over the 1st quarter of the 2021-2022 during our Quarter Assembly Awards. Please note that we will be having another Awards Assembly at the end of the 2nd Quarter. The second quarter ends 1/21/2022. We also gave away a bike last month to one lucky Ely Student. Finally, we had our Attendance Wars Challenge at Ely. We are looking forward to continuing to having many more fun and engaging events for our students after the Holiday Break.
Parents and Families thank you so much for your continued support this school year. As always if you have any questions or concerns please reach out to the school. I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful Holiday Break and we will see you when we return back to school on Monday, January 3, 2022.

Please make sure that your student is remembering to bring a clean mask with them each day, it is a good idea to give them a backup in their book bag too.
Masks must be worn by students in preschool through sixth grade until further notice.
Visitors to our buildings are required to wear masks.
A critical reminder: Students and staff should not come to school if they are showing ANY signs of illness, such as headache or fever, cough, sneezing, shortness of breath, stomachache, etc.
This cannot be overemphasized: Please do not come to school if you are feeling ill.

Ohio Child ID Kits First Grade Students
Students in first grade will receive Ohio Child ID kits this week. Information about the Ohio Child ID kit can be found below:
The Ohio Attorney General's office is providing every first-grade student in Ohio with a Child ID Kit. If ever needed, the Child ID Kit will give authorities important information to assist their efforts in locating a missing child. Unfortunately, statistics show more than 800,000 children in America go missing each year which is one child every 40 seconds and very few parents have a copy of their child's fingerprints. This Child ID KIT allows parents to collect specific information by easily recording the physical characteristics and fingerprints of their children on identification cards. The kits were distributed to all of our first grade students in Elyria Schools. The kits are to be completed at home with a parent or guardian and kept at home for safekeeping. Please do not return these to the school as the identification information is retained by the parent/guardian. The Child ID Kit allows parents to collect specific information by easily recording the physical characteristics and fingerprints of their children on identification cards that are then kept at home. Only the parent or guardian will have a copy of their child’s kit. If you are interested in purchasing a kit for other children in your household, visit the following website @ https://childidprogram.com/.
