Thank You!

Last Saturday's $1-2-3 Clothing Sale was a big success and wouldn't have been possible without the more than 50 HOURS of volunteer effort that were contributed in just 2 days time. Thanks to everyone who volunteered - whether you helped sort and fold clothes, staff the sale, or helped us break down, we couldn't have done it without you. Special thanks to Annie Qureshi and Jeanine Conway for their leadership in co-chairing the event.

Let Us Know You're Coming to the Halloween Hoot

Join us for trunk or treating and ghoulish fun at our annual Halloween Hoot on Friday, Nov. 1 from 7-8:30. Admission is $5 per child, max of $15 per family (pay at the door).

We need to get an approximate headcount for the Hoot, so SIGN UP TO ATTEND in AtoZ Connect here: https://atozconnect.com/cls/events?cith948 Select the line called "Attending the Hoot" and click the "sign up" button. Then click "sign me up" and let us know the number of kids and adults attending in the comments box.

We Need TRUNKS!

Right now, we only have 4 trunks being hosted for the trunk or treat at the Halloween Hoot. Simple or elaborate, fun or spooky - we need more trunks! We're also still looking for assistance with set up, clean up, staffing booths at the event and event snack & drink donations. The Halloween Hoot is great fun, but needs your help to run.

Sign up for any of these options in AtoZ Connect here: https://atozconnect.com/cls/events?cith948 If you're having trouble signing in to AtoZ Connect, but want to help out - please reach out to the event chairs, Melinda Harz (melindaharz@gmail.com) and Sally Bartlett (sally6178@gmail.com).

Read-a-Thon - Week 3 Update

We have just 13 days to go in our Read-a-Thon and we're getting close to our goals! As of Thursday night, our Bears had raised over $7300 and had read over 71,000 minutes. Keep reading and raising. Remember if we meet our goal, we'll SLIME our principal and our PTO Co-President.

Congrats to the Week 2 winning team of readers. The Barn Owls had over 10,000 minutes read in Mrs. Bohen's, Ms. McNulty's, Mrs. Maciolek's, Mr. Perler's, and Ms. Lavroff's class. To spice up the competition across the teams, this week we're tracking which of our Owl Teams has raised the most money since last week. Be sure to log all your reading and raising by Saturday night to count towards Week 3.

We also awarded reading pins to 50 lucky students who were reading and reading wristbands for 24 students who were fundraising. On Monday, we'll be awarding:

  • 24 bookmarks will be randomly awarded to NEW READERS in week 3
  • 12 reading duckies will be randomly awarded to NEW FUNDRAISERS in week 3

You can follow our Read-a-Thon progress and encourage friends and family to donate to the Read-a-Thon here: https://fund.whooosreading.org/school_orgs/bradley-gardens-school

NEXT WEEK'S WEEKLY INCENTIVE:

  • 50 Reading Temporary Tattoos to lucky readers and raisers

Donate Your Halloween Candy

Thanksgiving Feast Is Coming!

On Tuesday, November 19th at 11:30, Bradley Gardens School, in conjunction with the PTO, is planning to hold our thirteenth annual school-wide Thanksgiving Feast. All students and staff join together as a school family to share a full catered Thanksgiving dinner. This special gathering is a unique occasion celebrated at Bradley Gardens School in remembrance of and in keeping with the spirit of the first Thanksgiving.

This BGS tradition provides our students with a fun, delicious and meaningful experience. The PTO will be hosting the feast during the four-hour session day with our cafeteria closed. Because this is a catered event, we'll need an accurate headcount of those participating. Forms will be sent home next week and must be returned by Nov. 9th, along with $8 cash or check made payable to BGS PTO, in order to participate. You can also pay via AtoZ Connect (go to http://login.atozconnect.com, the to Store -> Products -> Events to find the Feast payment option).

The PTO will ensure we have the main course (turkey and all the fixings), but we would appreciate donations of desserts. We'll also need helpers to set up, serve, and clean up from the event. If you can make a dessert contribution or help serve, signup in AtoZ Connect here: https://atozconnect.com/cls/events?vuft4517
