Note Taking Challenge
Please share this quick video in during your Advisory Class this week to help students understand the note taking process. Also, remember that our school-wide goal is writing across all content areas! What better way to incorporate this than through note-taking, quick-writes, and short answer exit tickets.

Principal's Corner
I am still in awe that the year is passing by so quickly! I do want to recognize a few staff members for the tremendous work done to help us prepare, plan and implement our new intervention / enrichment time. A Big Thank you goes to Ms. Martha Melendez and Ms. Kim Passini for helping organize our Senator Strong Advisory Plan. Senator Strong Advisory will officially begin on October 14, 2019. However, this week is the time for math and language arts teachers to support the team and ensure that students have logged on to both Imagine Math and Lexia before the week of the 14th. All staff should have received communication from Ms. Passini about each teacher’s rosters and a slideshow to support the login process for students. To make things easier, the same documents will be linked to this week’s bulletin.
WE at Robinson are beginning to take the most critical steps needed to ensure that our students are attaining the skills to be college and career ready. This cannot be done without providing them with the foundational skills needed to be successful after their middle school years with us. As we have shared at our staff meetings, we need to take a risk and do things differently to achieve the results we desire. Our Leadership Team believes in our school-wide team and our vision for where we can take our students. As we prepare for intervention this week, let’s be very intentional with the time spent with the students. We also need to support each other by constant communication through monitoring our progress towards implementation for our interventions next Monday!

Staff Providing Technology Instruction
Working the Crowd- Effective teachers make an art of working the crowd -- otherwise known as management by walking around (also helps with monitoring students work).
Praise, Prompt, and Leave- For starters, corrective feedback must be brief -- a simple prompt that answers the question, What do I do next? That focuses the students' attention, while avoiding cognitive overload. Next, the student must perform the prompt immediately. That avoids forgetting. Then the teacher must leave, because helpless hand raisers are experts at wallowing to keep you there.
Progress Monitor- In providing technology support, teachers will be responsible for reviewing student data by pulling up reports and sharing progress made with students through small group or individual conversation. A progress monitoring chart for individual students and incentives tied to progress will help students meet goals being set. Please use PBIS Rewards Incentives to help students continue to grow and meet goals set.
