A Letter from Mr. Hershey

Dear Parent or Guardian,

Welcome back to school! I hope you enjoyed the two week winter vacation and were able to get some quality family time with your children. I can't believe that we are in the year 2019...the years move by so incredibly fast!

With the new year just passing by, most of us have set New Years Resolutions for ourselves to become better versions of ourselves. Although most of us don't see our New Years Resolution through the end of the year, it is important that we continue to improve each day. At Shiloh Point, we want to continue to support our students with a growth mindset and to see that struggle is a valuable part of learning. The goal is never to be perfect, but to continue to improve each day. To learn a little more on the growth mindset, watch this short video. This month, we will focus on the mindset "Everything is Possible."

Thank you for all that you do to support the staff as we do our best to make this the best learning environment for your children. We look forward to partnering with you this year to support our students' growth.

Wishing your family a great 2019!

The 7 Mindsets - Everything is Possible

The Everything is Possible mindset teaches that we are all capable of living extraordinary lives. Students learn that everything which exists today was once just an idea until someone believed it was possible and took the actions to make it into reality. This is true with our lives as well-they become, in many ways, whatever we expect them to be.

Make sure to ask your student about what "Everything is Possible" means. For more information, please click here. You will find great resources on this link that will support you as a parent.

Making a Difference...

Has a staff member made a positive impact on your family? Please take a minute to recognize our staff by completing the short google form. Thank you for taking the time to do this as it continues to feed our staff with positive energy. (Your note will be sent directly to Mr. Hershey and then passed on to the staff member.)

Car Rider Information

As a friendly reminder, the best way to travel to and from school is by utilizing the bus; however, if you are utilizing our car rider line, it is important that you follow the procedures that will keep our line safe and orderly. Please note that we have many parents dropping students off in the car rider line and that traffic is heavy; please plan on giving yourself plenty of time to get through the line as traffic does not excuse tardiness. Please click here to review Shiloh Point's car rider line procedures. It is important for all to follow these procedures to keep all of us safe. Thank you for your support with this!

The Place of Forsyth

The Place of Forsyth County was founded in 1975 by four Dominican Nuns. The sisters offered the residents assistance with financial needs, clothing, food and even tutoring children. Throughout our 40 years, we have been the catalyst for several agencies that had their beginnings as programs at The Place. Today we are serving the community with financial emergency assistance, clothing, food and many additional support services. In August 2015 we started a workforce development initiative in conjunction with several local agencies to help the under employed and unemployed prepare for and secure jobs. We also embraced an 8 year old service, Focus on Forsyth, which helps needy households through referrals from schools and senior center. Through our services to the community we are changing lives in Forsyth County Georgia.
