Mrs. Mata-Our New Principal!
A little about me- I started teaching 1st and 2nd grade almost 20 years ago! I was also a Special Education Teacher, Literacy Coach and Assistant Principal! I am a wife and mother! When I am not at school I enjoy: Reading, watching TV, crocheting and knitting! I also love baseball!! My favorite team is the Texas Rangers!!
I look forward to moving into this new role and promise that all decisions will be made with the kids best interest in mind! Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, suggestions or concerns! Please see my contact information below!! We're off on a great adventure!!
Let the Adventure Begin!!
I cannot stress enough the importance of good attendance! Research shows there is a direct link to students with good attendance to high achievement! Simply, if your child is not in school he/she will not learn! Our campus/district goal is have our daily attendance rate at 94% or higher!
Here's our Attendance Rates from the last couple of weeks:
- Mon 8/15 - 87.89%
- Tue 8/16 - 89.91%
- Wed 8/17 - 88.34%
- Thur 8/18 - 91.03%
- Fri 8/19 - 88.79%
- Mon 8/22 - 92.17%
- Tue 8/23 - 91.74%
- Wed 8/24 - No School
- Thur 8/25 - 92.19%
- Fri 8/26 - 88.71%
As you can see we have work to do!! Help us achieve our daily goal!!
Attendance Challenges will begin September 1st!!
- Students that have perfect attendance the first 15 days in September will receive a free dress day!! (Free Dress day will be Monday, Sept 19th)
- If they have perfect attendance the entire month of September they will receive an Ice Cream Sundae!
This year this will include tardies and leaving early. If your child is tardy or leaves early he/she will NOT be in the running for the attendance incentive.
Unless your child sick please ensure he/she is in school EVERYDAY!!
