Hybrid Learning Begins
A letter with Hybrid information was sent through the mail and will probably be delivered on Saturday or Monday. It was emailed out on Friday evening. If you'd like to reference it again, click here.
Here are some helpful videos to show arrival procedures for students riding the bus or walking as well as car riders. There is also a video for hallway and bathroom procedures.
If your child is taking the bus or walking to school, please click here.
If your child is a car rider, please click here.

Mrs. Watson would like to extend a big thank you to 3rd grade teacher Mr. Cisneros for directing and editing these videos and Mrs. Diamond and the Target teams for starring in them.

Symptom Self Check and Absence Procedures for Hybrid Students
Parents must complete the District 200 Safety Self-Assessment for their student(s) certifying they are fever free, do not have any COVID-19 symptoms, and have not tested positive for COVID-19. This step must be completed via the Powerschool Parent Portal every morning, meaning BOTH A and B days for all in-person students. If you have not set up your Powerschool Parent Portal account, information regarding how to sign up can be found below.
On Wednesday, January 27, and Thursday, January 28, parents will receive the District 200 Safety Self-Assessment electronically. Please fill this form out as practice for your student(s) on Wednesday and Thursday. Beginning Monday, February 1, this form must be completed daily for all hybrid students regardless if it is their day of attendance or not.
If a student is absent from school, a parent will need to notify the school of the reason or the student will not be allowed to return to school the following in person day.
Powerschool
All families choosing in person learning must sign up for the Powerschool Parent Portal. This parent portal will be used to complete the daily District 200 Safety Self-Assessment. If you need additional support in getting signed up please view the videos below. If you do not have or misplaced your access ID, please contact your school office. If you have already signed up, you do not need to do anything again.
Young Author's Program
The district will be kicking off its Young Author program this month. The Young Author program gives students the opportunity to write their own book. Books are then judged at the grade level and building level. Building level representatives will be celebrated at the building level and recognized by the school board. Listed below are some guidelines for Young Author’s books. We hope your child will be interested in participating this year!
Details:
-The Young Author’s program is voluntary and books are completed at home. Teachers may offer support during office hours to help with editing and revising.
-Final books are due: Friday, February 19th.
-Hard copies of books will not be collected this year. Students may be asked to record themselves reading their book or submit a Google doc.
-There is no cost to participate.
Requirements:
-Books must be an original idea of the child. Books can certainly be transcribed or typed by a parent, but the story must come solely from the child.
-Books may be completed paper/pencil or digitally.
-Books may be fiction or nonfiction, and can be written in a variety of formats (picture book, graphic novel, etc.). Books may be written in English or Spanish.
-Books may be co-authored with up to two students. Both names should appear as authors.
-Original student photographs or artwork are encouraged, however, students may choose to use digital images.
Grade level and building representatives will be announced in March. They will be recognized at their buildings as well as by the school board.
We look forward to seeing all the great books submitted for our Young Authors’ program!
