Got Volunteer Hours? If Not, Now's Your Chance!
Did you know that every Saint Rita Family is required to perform 30 hours of volunteer service each year? This not only allows us to keep costs down, but it also provides an opportunity for parents to model generosity of time and talent. At Saint Rita, we constantly promote service to those in need and to all in our community. Another bonus to volunteering is that you get to meet the amazing families in our community!
Read below for the many volunteer opportunities.
Saint Rita International Fair is Sunday, October 1!
International Fair is a long-standing tradition at Saint Rita Catholic Church and School. Here are the ways you can contribute:
- Donate a cake for the cake walk
- Donate a twelve-pack of sodas
- Dress in traditional costume and attend the 9 a.m. Mass
- Volunteer to set-up, work a game booth, or take-down the fair afterward (all of these count toward the required 10 hours of fundraising)
Students will have free dress on Thursday, October 5 if the family donates two items to the fair, or if the student attends 9 a.m. Mass in traditional costume and the family donates a cake or a twelve-pack of sodas.
International Fair Spirit Days!
Students may wear this year's International Fair t-shirt on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (9-25,26,27) with uniform shorts, pants, or skirt.
If you don't have a t-shirt, you can purchase one this weekend after the 5 p.m. Saturday, 9 a.m. Sunday, or 11 a.m. Sunday Masses at Saint Rita Catholic Church. Order information: http://www.saintritaschool.net/2017_International_Fair_T-Shirts.pdf
On Thursday, September 28, there will be a school-wide International Mass at 8 a.m. Students may wear traditional costumes from around the world or their dress uniform. Students should bring tennis shoes for PE.
Volunteer Now!
Here are some ways to get your service hours:
- Volunteer at International Fair - see the link for set up, fair shifts, and clean up times: http://www.saintritaschool.net/IF_Volunteer.pdf
- Barricade morning set-up and/or afternoon take-down. Mrs. Burns has completed her service hours! Two parents have taken on a couple of shifts that will cover their service hours for the year. Morning and afternoon spots are still available! Contact Mrs. Burns to claim your time.
- Wildcat Workdays - See the Rita Pack for the next event
- Check out our "Service Hours" page for more opportunities: http://www.saintritaschool.net/service_hours.cfm
- Did I mention Barricade set-up and take-down? This is really fun! This is what I would do if I needed my service hours and didn't want to receive a bill for $450 at the end of April.
