Daily info for our students and parents 5/6/2020
District Daily News
Dear Classes of 2020, 2021 and Parents:
It is with a heavy heart I share that this year’s prom is canceled due to the COVID-19 restrictions. We had hoped we could have rescheduled prior to our school year ending; however, with the latest information coming from Governor Abbott, the Center for Disease Control and local health agencies, we are unable to host a large event and sustain social distancing practices to ensure the safety of our students.
While I wish I could share better news, I know you are incredibly disappointed. Prom is a special time for students, especially for our seniors. Currently, we are working on the refund process for those who have purchased tickets. We will share that process soon.
- AP Students and Parents, new information has been released from College Board regarding AP Exams. Please review this Exam Day Checklist and Explainer Videos. On May 4th, your child will be able to practice exam submissions through an exam demo. Next week, the AP Review sessions will focus on the exam day experience and sample questions. 48 hours prior to exams, your student will receive an email with their exam ticket. Be sure you check what time the exam starts in our time zone. For more resources, visit the College Board Coronavirus page for the most up to date information.
Please read this letter regarding the semester 2 grade calculations for the 19-20 school year.
Please see the information provided regarding AP exams.
Physicals
Our Midlothian ISD physicals which were planned for Saturday, May 16th, are cancelled. More information will be coming soon concerning athletic paperwork for the 2020-21 school year.

The Mentors Care Podcast posted yesterday hosted by Dena Petty, Mentors Care founder and executive director. Development Coordinator Summer Backstrom co-hosts the podcast alongside Petty.
From College Board: College Board released a new testing date for Saturday, September 26, 2020. This date will be for the SAT only with no SAT Subject Tests™ available. Sunday testing for religious reasons will be on September 27. Registration for the 2020-21 SAT administrations will open the week of May 26.
June registrants will be able to transfer their seat to a 2020-21 administration.
All other students in the high school class of 2021 who don't have SAT scores will also have early access to register for the August, September, and October administrations. This includes students who had registered for March or May and had their registrations canceled and refunded.
