MANDATORY Student and Parent/Guardian Pre-departure meeting

Monday, Jan. 7th, 7pm

York Middle School Wild Cat Room

Both STUDENTS and PARENT(S) should be in attendance. All questions and final trip information (packing lists etc.) will be addressed at this time. Signatures and informational paperwork will be completed at this time. Bring a pen! Be aware notices will continue to come home/be posted on my site between now and the meeting. PLEASE bring travel documents at this time.

Quarter 2 is coming to an end. Stay on top of work!

Although academic status does not prevent students from tending the trip, it is very important that students remain in good academic standing. Please help your student check his/her progress and settle missing work and progressings as soon as possible. This would be the responsible thing for students to do and to show respect towards the teachers and classes they will be missing.

Students who are suspended are also not permitted to attend the trip (2 in school or 1 out of school).

NOTE: Students unable to attend for behavioral reasons do not receive a refund.

Fundraising Update: Calendar Raffle winners!

All raffle prizes have been pulled. Winners have been contacted and prizes are being distributed.

Help will be needed to contact the winners.

Congratulations to all who participated and raised almost $3,000!

Record year of sales, with several students were able to completely pay off their Québec trip AND put money towards D.C.!

Get your Canadian money NOW!

Although York hosts thousands of Canadian tourists each summer, the local banks do not keep large amounts of Canadian money on hand. Also, it can take local banks 2-3 weeks to order the money to have in stock. Please consider talking with your local bank or visiting a larger branch in Portsmouth to meet your needs.

Students will need money for lunch each day and for any souvenirs they wish to purchase. The amount is at parent discretion. I would suggest, at minimum $50 Canadian dollars and a minimum of $30 American.

Students cannot use travelers checks, debit cards or pre-paid cards of any sort as they do not hold a proper picture ID.

In addition, students will need $10 Canadian and $10 American for tips (driver and guide). This will be collected on the bus ride up.

See you January 7th!

Join us at 6:15 for a reception to open and celebrate the artistic efforts of our advanced art students and our French Café

Coffee and treats will be served while admiring the beautiful creation and addition to our World Language Wing! You will also have the opportunity to speak with the artists and hear about their year long project.

Meeting will begin in the Wild Cat Room promptly at 7 pm
