Tigerville Times

February Edition

From the Principal's Desk

Dear Parents,

January seemed like a short month with all of the weather days! I was definitely ready to get back into our routine. I would like to thank our students who came to our after school socials. We had a great time and we are looking forward to our next socials in April. Our school has been nominated as a National Blue Ribbon School. We are in the process of completing the application and we will keep you updated on our status. Thank you for your support in helping us provide the best opportunities for our children. It is an honor to work at Tigerville with committed staff, parents, and students!

Sincerely,

D. Jackson

Counselor's Corner

Tigerville Students and Families,

I am so thrilled with the outcome of the Student Council Toy Drive! The students at Tigerville has shown true kindness by donating their toys to children who are less fortunate. In the month of February, we will be learning about patience and different types of careers. Student council will meet February 13 at 7:30. Remember to wear red for our picture!

Making Healthier Choices

Did you make a New Year's Resolution to start exercising? Let's keep that going, and get the whole family involved. We all know our days can seem too short to add anything else in there. A simple family walk or bike ride around the neighborhood right after work/school goes a long way in keeping your body healthy. Do your best to take time out of your schedule to take care of yourself!

News from the Reading Coach

I Love reading good books! Scholastic has great lists of books for age groups with many categories in which to choose. Favorites & Classics, Adventure & Fantasy, Animals, and Science & Nature are just a

few to choose from. I use the lists to read what the book is about and if I would enjoy it. I hope you and your child will enjoy looking at the lists to find books your child might be interested in reading. Once you know the titles, you can go to the library or see if the books are digital.
