Principal's Perspective
Now that December is officially here, this is your reminder to label hats, gloves, and coats for the winter. As shared previously, our lost and found is overflowing and will be cleared out this weekend and have a fresh start on Tuesday. Names help us out a lot!
We had a fantastic book fair this week! If your child forgot money, they are able to come down on Monday morning for a final shopping day. We also have our Holiday Shop, sponsored by our PTO, that begins on Tuesday. Students can bring money to shop for family members. Please mark this with their name and total amount. They will bag up their gifts and have them ready! Flyers should come home today with additional information.
Enjoy your weekend!

Happy Friday Families!
Thank you to all who came for our STEAM night yesterday. Mrs. Clary, Mrs. Cole, Mrs. Coleman, Mrs. McClelland, and Mr. Pribbeno had great activities for our families to enjoy and our PTO was awesome in organizing the evening.
For those who attended, you are aware we had an unexpected problem with the Starlab. We understand this was disappointing to our students (Mrs. McClelland too!). Thank you for your patience. Today we learned, it was a little more than what we thought, and we actually need to send the Starlab off to be fixed. This unfortunately impacted the classes that were due to visit the Starlab today too. We do want families to know that once it is fixed, Mrs. McClelland will make up for the missed opportunities for students and families.
Have a great weekend!

Counselor's Corner
Dear families,
We loved wrapping up our November with disAbility Awareness through the Joseph Maley Foundation! Please see below for information about this amazing organization!
The Joseph Maley Foundation is committed to celebrating differences and cultivating an inclusive community through service and education of youth in Greater Indianapolis. Since our founding in 2008, we have served over 350,000 children, including more than 41,000 in the 2022-2023 school year.
We are thrilled to bring our Disability Awareness program to your school. Disability Awareness is a developmentally-appropriate, standards-based curriculum that aims to build understanding and awareness of people with disabilities. Our engaging program fosters respect, empathy, and acceptance of all.
Here is a brief overview of the themes featured in each grade levels:
Kindergarten: Everybody is Different
First Grade: Everybody Needs Help
Second Grade: Uniquely Me: Blindness
Third Grade: Living with a Disability
Fourth Grade: Everybody Learns Differently: Learning Disabilities
We invite you to talk with your children about what they experience and learn as part of the Disability Awareness program. Ask questions, share your own experiences, and join together to celebrate the differences that make us all unique.
If you are interested in finding out more about the Joseph Maley Foundation and how you can be involved, please visit our website www.josephmaley.org.

Lunch Sign-Ups
For student safety and to accommodate our limited cafeteria seating, we are allowing our families to visit once a trimester. To be prepared for our guests and to check the Safe Visitor Registration of incoming visitors (this is required for every visitor) please make sure you register 24 hours in advance.
We allow 5 visitors per grade level lunch. Please use one slot per person signing up. Due to limited space, visitors will be sitting with their child(ren) at their classroom tables. You have the option of bringing in a home packed lunch or purchasing a lunch at school. No fast food will be allowed at this time. Lunch menus can be found here. The price of an adult lunch is $4.80.
Attendance and Dismissal
Attendance
Please do this even if you let your child's classroom teacher know about the absence. This will ensure that our attendance secretary receives the information.
Dismissal Changes
If you have a dismissal change, please let the front office know by 1:00pm. This gives the office enough time to notify your child is where they’re supposed to be at the end of the day! Please DO NOT leave dismissal changes on the attendance line.
To notify the front office of a dismissal change, call (317) 896-4711, or email:
