Volume 2, Issue 26 - February 15, 2019
Digital Citizenship is an important curriculum that we focus on at middle school. At the beginning of the year, teachers in all main content areas have targeted lessons that we present to students and the skills are woven into other curriculum throughout the year. Today’s technology, including student cell phones, and school issued devices bring with them many challenges that we must educate our students on. The following link goes to an article that we feel would be helpful for parents to think about. Please remind your student that not only should they not be taking inappropriate pictures of themselves or others, they also should not be asking for or sharing photos from others.
Advisory for Feb. 18-22
The PBIS expectation for the week of 2/18 is being RESPONSIBLE in Hallways, Stairs and Annexes.
This means we will be looking for students who are able to:
- Carry a valid hall pass
- Move with a purpose
- Keep locker clean and locked
- Use doorbell appropriately
Happy Valentine's Day

Our guidance counselors recently presented information (classroom presentations below) to our 6th/7th grade students on their electives course options for next year (2019/20). Elective Course Selection forms (attached below) were given to students at that same time. Students were instructed that they will need to enroll for their electives using Home Access AND by submitting the actual paper copy of the Electives Course Selection form.
Note that all elective choices will be listed under "electives" in Home Access. You will find the World Language options under "World Languages" in Home Access. Please work with your student to enter this information onto Home Access AND have them submit the information on the paper copy of the Electives Course Selection Form to their Social Studies teachers no later than February 22. As always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact our guidance department.
