March Library Newsletter
March is Women's History Month!
Come by the library to see the display of books celebrating women making history!
Circulation Statistics
We were closed for two weeks for inventory, so our statistics are lower than usual, but we had 14 classes in the library and checked out 232 books.
Below are the top 10 titles for the month. Manga and graphic novels continue to be favorites.
LibraryPalooza was a success!
Our group of students went by bus to see 4 authors talk about their books and how they got to where they are. They were all wonderful speakers! This is a picture of Nic Stone during her session.
6th Grade ELA Stations
6th grade students took an interim assessment and I worked with the ELA teachers to support the lowest TEKS with some stations. All 6th grade classes were able to come in and do the stations to practice finding text evidence and synthesizing information. Lots of sad faces when it was time to leave! :)
Nepris Interviews
These GT students are speaking to a Psychologist and asking her questions about how the brain works and how certain chemicals and situations can affect it. Nepris is a program that matches industry professionals with classes who would like to hear them speak.
Can't Get To The Library? Place a Hold on a Book!
The library will be closed for checkout during most of the week of March 7th to the 11th due to TELPAS testing. Then we have Spring Break and when we come back, the library will be unavailable on March 22nd to the 24th for vision/ hearing screening and early release activities. If you can't get the the library with your class, put a book on hold instead and I can make sure it gets to you so you have something to read. See the video below for help putting a book on hold.
