The Waldron Weekly ‘21-'22
volume 35
May 2nd - 6th
Teacher Appreciation Week
A Note from Ms. Waldron
Anasazi Parents,
It's hard to believe that we entering our last month of the 2021-22 school year. May brings lots of celebrations and end of school activities. Please make sure that you continue to check this weekly newsletter for important updates.
This week we celebrate our amazing teachers. Please help me in thanking teachers for lending their passion and skills to educating our children. Anasazi has the best of the best!
As summer approaches, I also want to be transparent and let you know that I have signed my SUSD contract to return to Anasazi next year for my 5th year as principal. At times when there is lots of movement within the district, people begin to ask what I plan to do. So the plan is ... STAY PUT!
In past school years we have sent out our Anasazi commitment questionnaire in paper form. In an effort to move to a more paperless communication we have created a pop-up questionnaire in ParentVUE. The way you answer this question does not officially affect your enrollment – it just gives an idea of class sizes for support staffing, etc.
Starting Friday, April 29th, please log into your ParentVUE account and quickly answer with “Yes” my student will be returning to Anasazi next year or “No” my student will not be returning. The commitment form will close on May 13th.
If you are not sure if your student will be returning, please answer “Yes” (if this changes, please let the office know)

A Note from our Community Specialist
Dear parents, staff, and students:
Remember I am accepting applications for the Back to School Program sponsored by Vista del Camino Community Center for all the families in need of our district. Children will receive backpacks, school supplies, clothing, under wear, and will have the opportunity to complete the Free and Reduce lunch application for next year. Young siblings (0-4) will also have a "little something" from our sponsors.
Also, please contact me if you need a summer food box. These will be distributed by the end of June to alleviate families who might be facing food insecurities and is available for all our families. Once again, please know these resources are completely confidential and there is NEVER any judgement. We are here to make sure children get the very best education, that's it!
Thank you so much for your continuous support.
You can call me at 480-484-4614 to make an appointment.

On to the next phase for IB Accredidation
Last month our IB consultant report was submitted! Most items were marked 'clearly demonstrated' with just a hand full 'in progress'. A huge thank you to our IB Coordinator and teachers whom worked endlessly, during a pandemic, to complete the candidacy phase in three years. The amount of work completed daily by staff to make this happen is to be commended.
Most importantly, under the question of "is the school ready to submit the application for authorization?" we got a YES! We hope to submit the official application for our authorization visit shortly. Thank you families for the continued support.
This month's IB Learner Profile Attribute is Balanced
This month we are focusing on being Balanced.
We understand the importance of balancing different aspects of our lives—intellectual, physical, and emotional—to achieve well-being for ourselves and others. We recognize our interdependence with other people and with the world in which we live.
Please remember to look at the Anasazi in Action page on our PYP Parent Portal to learn more about what your children are learning.
Anasazi PYP Parent Portal
We have created an Anasazi PYP Parent Portal for you to be able to find information about Anasazi and our PYP journey. Here is a link to an introduction video about our portal and the information that can be found there.
