"Thank You" to the PTO
On Wednesday, 1/25, I attended our SLS PTO meeting. I have to say it was such a great experience. Everyone on the committee was focused and you could hear the commitment in their voices. As a teacher I was encouraged to give honest feedback and it was received in such a positive manner. The people making up this group are doing an amazing job for our school.
Way to go PTO!

SLS Girls basketball 7th and 8th
Last week St. Louis Lady Cardinals 7th and 8th grade traveled to Greensburg.
7th grade won against them with a score of 23-10. Scoring for SLS were Emma Weberding with 12, Chelsea Robertson with 3, and Alyssa Wanstrath, Olivia Raab, Faith Tekulve, and Lilly Wonnell all with 2pts. Defensivly all the girls had a great game. Alyssa Wanstrath was and endless with her hustle down court and stole the ball more times than was accounted for. Nice job ladies.
8th grade lost to Greensburg 11-54. While Greensburg has a team that is flawless in passing and ball movement, our girls learned a lot by playing them. Scoring points for SLS were Grace Eckstein with 6 and Pam Meneses with 5. All of the girls worked hard on defense and offense.
Thanks!

Deanery Championship team
Game Summary:
The St. Louis 8th grade played their final game at the St. Louis Activity Center on Sunday and went out on a winning note as they defeated the St. Lawrence Panthers in the championship game of this area’s regional Deanery tournament by the score of 42-21. As they have all year, the boys played great as a team and show tremendous support for each other throughout the game. The team was led offensively by Riley Schebler you scored a season high 12 points and the fan favorite, Jacob “Wuesty” Wuestefeld who knocked down a big three pointer from well beyond the arc igniting the close-to-capacity crowd. On defense, the Cardinals were led by the always scrappy Tyler Kuntz on the perimeter and the rebounding machine Sam Voegele on the boards. The rest of scoring for the Cardinals consisted of: Jack Abplanalp with 2, Kurt Siefert 3, Jacob Wuestefeld 3, Ben Schebler 2, Riley Schebler 12, Jack Forbeck 3, Andrew Oesterling 3, Lleyton Ratcliff 5, Wil Freeland 2, Karson Macke 2, and Sam Voegele rounded out the scoring with 5.
The victory advances the Cardinals to the next round of the tournament in Indianapolis at Scecina High School where they will play the winner of the New Albany Deanery. The game is on Sunday February 12th at 1:00.
Also, the team would like to thank all the dedicated St Louis Cardinal fans who have supported their team throughout the year.
Thanks.
