Writing: Writing multiple sentences on topic with proper conventions
Helpful Hints for Home
As we begin wrapping up the year it is vital that your students become more independent, and begin finalizing skills necessary to 1st grade.
Math: Please help us is in focusing on writing numbers correctly with your child, counting to 100 by 1s and 10s, and basic addition and subtraction (within 5).
Reading: Sight words are CRUCIAL to reading success. Please continue to work on sight words DAILY. Also, begin allowing your student to use strategies to read as independently as possible.
*please see the reading strategy song and motions we use in class to build independent readers*
Writing: It is the goal and expectation that students leave Kindergarten writing five sentences, on topic, unassisted. Please help us being allowing your child to write, unassisted, as often as possible. Have them write about things they did that day or plans they have coming up.
Tigers of the Month
In March teachers were looking at their class for the trait responsibility. These students were chosen because they are examples of being responsible to their classmates and teachers.
Savannah W, Jivaan C, and Kendall H are our Tigers of the Month for March.
Way to go Tigers!
Happy Birthday!
