ROCORI STAFF

WINTER BREAK DECEMBER 23RD-JANUARY 3RD

WINTER BREAK ADJUSTMENT - JANUARY 3RD

The ROCORI school board has made an adjustment to the 2021-2022 school calendar at the December 13th board meeting. The change was to make January 3rd, a staff planning and preparation day. This change means that there will be no school for students on January 3rd. Our ROCORI staff has had a uniquely challenging year. In many cases staff have been asked to substitute teach, or perform other duties, eliminating their preparation time. To provide an additional chance to prepare staff will have January 3rd as a no student contact day and our students will resume school on January 4th.

SNOW DAY PROTOCOL

In the event we have an emergency cancellation due to inclement weather, our first weather related cancellation would be a “snow day” with no expectations for instruction. If we have more than one of these weather events, the remainder would be a distance learning day. For any of our distance learning days, students will find materials on Schoology/Electronically available by 9:00 am.

Student safety is always the most important consideration for all decisions that our school district makes. It is still the choice of the parent or guardian to choose to send, or not send their student to school on a day where they feel travel is not safe. It is important for students to be in school, but we will always respect the decisions made by a parent to keep their student home if they feel it is necessary.

SCHOOL SAFETY

The safety of our ROCORI community is the responsibility of everyone in our community. If students or parents ever see anything that you consider threatening, please report it immediately to administration, police or a trusted adult in the building. We will continue to talk to our student body about the implications our words can have on social media and the seriousness those words can have. We would ask families to have similar conversations, and actively monitor social media use of their students. Please know that every decision made by our administrative team, teachers and support staff is done with safety for everyone in our school community in mind. Thank you for trusting the safety of your student to our school.

ROCORI EQUITY ADVISORY CHAMBER (REACh)

A community equity advisory committee is being formed to provide diverse perspectives to school district leaders to assist ROCORI as we pursue our Vision 2025 goals of creating an inclusive, curious, balanced, connected, equitable, and progressive school district. The committee will be advisory only, but topics, suggestions, and concerns will be relayed to the various decision-making groups within the district. REACh will meet 2 to 3 times each year for 90 minutes. REACh members will choose a 2- or 3-year commitment upon application.

HEALTH OFFICE INFORMATION

Update Vaccinations:

If you have had any new vaccinations since last school year, please send that information to Missy Boucher in the Health Office so we can update your student file.

If your student has received the COVID vaccine, and you are willing to share that information, you can send a picture of your vaccination card to Mrs. Boucher. This would assist us in effectively and efficiently contact tracing within our building. Sharing this information with our school health office would be voluntary.
