The Wellness Newsletter
Barrington Middle School
A Message from Your School Counselors
Dear Parents & Guardians,
We hope that you are finding our newsletters helpful as we all try to navigate this new “normal” that we know is not normal at all! We will continue to send these out weekly and we are also posting them to our website so if you’d like to clear out your inbox, you can always get back to the newsletter if you’d like to view it again!
Now that we have received the news that we are continuing with remote learning through the month of April, we want to stress how important it is to take care of yourselves. Taking some time each day to unplug, do a physical activity, eat well, drink water daily, get enough sleep, connect (virtually) with friends, etc. aren’t just strategies for our students but are so important for all of us. It’s probably more important now than ever.
As always, we are just an email away for you and your children! We would love to be able to connect with your children and we have a variety of ways to do so. Reach out if there is anything we can do to help you during this stressful time.

Importance of Relieving Stress
While it may seem like there's nothing you can do about stress right now, there are steps you can take to relieve the pressure and regain control. You have a lot more control than you might think.
Effective stress management helps you break the hold stress has on your life, so you can be happier, healthier, and more productive. The ultimate goal is a balanced life, with time for work, relationships, relaxation, and fun—and the resilience to hold up under pressure and meet challenges head-on. But stress management is not one-size-fits-all. That’s why it’s important to experiment and find out what works best for you. The following 12 simple habits to relieve stress can help you do that.
