Closing the gender gap in small holder farming plays a critical role in improving agricultural productivity and in reducing poverty, and though the focus on strengthening agriculture-nutrition linkages continues to increase, little has been done to address the key element of agricultural extension and the role of gender and nutrition in Extension and Advisory Services (EAS).

The INGENAES Global Symposium and Learning Exchange Event is anaction-packed three day event in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia that addresses the question: What does it mean to integrate gender and nutrition into agricultural extension and how do we do it?

Through a varied mix of presenters from ... who will share best practices and case studies from across the world and hands-on sessions, including training workshops, creative group discussions and field trips, the symposium is designed to help you practically apply ideas and walk out with an understanding of:

  • How to build gender responsive and nutrition sensitive institutions
  • Key entry points for agricultural extension to address nutrition
  • Proven mechanisms to integrate gender and nutrition in EAS that can be replicated
  • Innovations that enhance women's productivity and improve nutritional outcomes
  • Tested tools and approaches

If you are a Donor, NGO, implementing project partner, representative from the public sector or even from private for-profit sector, you'll find this event giving you fresh perspectives, practical tools and a wealth of resources and networks that will enable you to integrate gender and nutrition at an organizational and project level.
