Newsletter Week 7, Term 4
Huirangi Primary School, Monday 28th November 2022
Kia Ora Koutou, Hello Everyone!
This is our second to last newsletter for the year! Term four has certainly gone fast!
We have had a big leak in the office roof, so we have been busy shifting furniture and paperwork around, creating a new space to work in while we wait for repairs. It looks as though Santa has caused some of the damage to the roof. Hopefully he can work some magic over Christmas to get it repaired faster than what I think it will take!
The pool is officially open, and our tamariki are braving the elements and swimming most days. A huge thank you to Wayne Havard for his hard work in getting the pool up and running in time for us to enjoy it before the holidays.
Please take the time to read about our upcoming events. The next two and a half weeks are jam packed!
Ngā mihi nui,

Huirangi School Buddy Gift Exchange
Our school is doing the Buddy gift exchange again this year. Gifts (to a value of no more than $10) are to be wrapped in festive paper and named To: …. From: …. and the House the student is in (Tui, Kiwi or Pukeko) and brought into the office any time from now on please.
All gifts need to be at school by Wednesday 7th December at the latest please.
The names of who the children are buying for have been sent home but if you haven't received these or your children are unsure on who their buddy is, you are welcome to phone the school office on 06 752 0606.
Fancy Dress Folk Dance Evening
The evening begins at 6pm and will end at approximately 7pm.
In the lead up to this event, we are having a rehearsal at the Knox Church on the morning of Tuesday 6th December. We please ask that you drop your child to the Knox Church in Waitara before 9am that day. We will bus back to school afterwards.
Final Assembly and Prizegiving for 2022
We would love as many families to attend as possible. If the weather is fine the evening will start with a BYO picnic dinner at 5pm, with the formalities beginning at 6pm. If the weather is wet, there won't be a picnic, just the prizegiving in the hall at 6pm. This is a very special night, especially for our Year 6 Leavers. We would love you all to come!

Touch Subs 2022
Please send cash to the school office or pay online to our bank account 15-3945-0210342-000 using your child/ren's name and 'Touch' as a reference.
Thank you.
Children Arriving at School Early or Late
We understand that some children need to be at school early due to parents work commitments. We have noticed recently that there are more children than usual turning up at school just before 8.15am. This has resulted in a few behaviour incidences that have occurred before 8.30am, which impacts on our busy teachers prepping for the day. Please ensure your early drop off is genuine. Thank you.
If your child/ren arrive at school after the 9am bell it is important that they report to the school office before going to class. This is for Health and Safety reasons as we must know who is on site at all times.
