Richmond Heights Secondary School
Digital Learning Resource Page
A Note from Mrs. Brown
COVID-19 has forever changed us and has forced us to look at life in many different ways than before and that doesn't fall short when it comes to education. The Richmond Heights staff did a phenomenal job quickly transitioning to our online platform to provide our students with continued learning experiences despite the national health pandemic. As you all are aware, Governor Dewine has closed schools for the remained of this academic year, however we remain more committed than ever to be a force of stability to our students and their families. We don't know what the fall may hold for us in the face of COVID but rest assured that the Richmond Heights Local District is planning for every scenario we can imagine with students and families as our focus. If you are still in need of a chromebook and further conversations of how to adapt to digital learning, please don't hesitate to contact us.
As we close out this school year, we will be providing parents more information regarding end of the year ceremonies, all which will be virtual. Please be sure that students finish the year strong academically as it will serve as the building block for future learning.
In the essence of Teacher Appreciation Month be reminded that superHEROES do work here!!! Our Teachers!!! Stay Safe and we hope to see everyone soon.
Please note that all of the Google Classroom Codes are for student access. Please email your child's individual teacher to be "invited" to the class as a parent.
We are in this together!!!
4th Quarter Grading Information
Secondary (Grades 7-12)- Students will receive a letter grade that equates with the Pass/Fail System. The modified grading scale below has adjusted percentages that correlate to a Pass/Fail but allows us to differentiate within that system as well. While it is not our intent to fail any student at this time, we will only administer a F (Fail) for students and families where there has been NO ENGAGEMENT and that the attempts to contact families have been documented.
‘A’ - 80-100%
If a student earned between an 80 and 94%, that percent will be changed to a 95% at the end of the grading period by the teacher. Grades 95% and higher will not change.
‘B’ - 66-79%
If a student earned between a 66 and 79%, that percent will be changed to a 85% at the end of the grading period by the teacher.
‘C’ - 50-65%
If a student earned between 50 and 65%, that percent will be changed to a 75% at the end of the grading period by the teacher.
Anything below 50% would be considered a “Fail”
