The Weeks in Review
After returning from a nice winter break, we dove right back into learning about the Earth's surface and how it is constantly changing. We learned about weathering, erosion, and deposition, and how those processes work together to shape the planet we live on. In a great hands-on investigation we used our "stream tables" to simulate the conditions of the Earth! We learned that weathering is the breaking down of rocks, erosion is the movement of that broken down rock, and deposition is the process of depositing the rock in a different location. Check out the pictures below!
From there we built on that knowledge and talked about landforms. From mountains to canyons, gulfs to canals - we learned about the landforms we see every day and how they are formed.
In Social Studies we finished our work on important people from the Texas revolution, and presented our projects to one another. Now that Texas is it's own nation we are learning about the nine years where Texas had to do things on it's own and the problems that presented itself during those times.
