August/September Newsletter
A Note from Mrs. Charlton
Thank you for a wonderful start to the 2023-2024 school year! Students and teachers have spent time getting to know one another and learn classroom procedures, routines, and rules.
Arrival:
Arrival is a busy time. Please read through these directions and use caution when dropping off your students. Our front doors will open at 7:35 A.M. Please do not arrive any earlier, as we do not have staff available for supervision prior to this time.
Car Riders
Parent drop-off has been extremely busy, but seems to pick up speed every day; thank you for your patience as we work to get the bugs out of our system. If your child is coming to school by car in the mornings, please let your child out of the car as soon as you are parallel with the sidewalk. Please do not get out of your car, we will have staff, every morning, to assist you.
Bus Students
All bus students will come into the building at 7:35. Teachers will be at their classroom doors greeting them as they enter.
Dismissal:
Our dismissal time is 2:35. We will dismiss the buses first. The car line will begin at the back entrance to Eastview by playground. We will not begin dismissing car riders until 2:35. If you have forgotten your car rider tag, please note you must come to the front office and provide proof of identification before we release your child.
Please do not get out of your car for any reason. If you need to buckle your child, please up beyond the car rider line and assist them at that time.
We ask that all transportation changes are arranged by 2:00 P.M. It is imperative that you call our office BEFORE 2:00 if you need alternative arrangements for your child. Please try to keep this at a minimum. Consistency for your child is important. We understand there are times that changes need to be made and will do everything we can to accommodate these changes. Please do not rely on your teacher receiving a message during the day for these changes-they must go through the office. 765-825-5541.
Again, safety is the top priority and your child’s day begins and ends with transportation.
I will send out a monthly newsletter to all families but please follow our social media channels in order to stay engaged in your child's learning. One of the best ways you can provide feedback and share innovative ideas for our school is to join our PTO. This year's PTO has many events planned and would love volunteers! Our first PTO meeting is coming up quickly; August 29th at 3:45 P.M. in the Eastview library.
We will have our first Title I literacy night on August 31st from 5:00-6:30. This is a great way to connect with your child's teacher, enjoy some reading activities with your family, and ask any questions you may have about our school. We look forward to seeing you there!
I am deeply honored, humbled, and incredibly excited for the year and I look forward the most to serving Fayette County students, families, teachers, staff, and the community.

Priority Standards
Each quarter, our instruction is focused on district developed priority standards. As a school, we monitor your child's growth in these standards through common formative assessments (CFAs). During MTSS time, teachers differentiate instruction to meet the needs of each student, based on CFA data. You may hear your child discuss MTSS time. Every child participates in this designated time for both math and reading. It is our way to ensure we have covered our priority standards and support your child in reaching mastery. If you have more questions about MTSS time or CFAs, please reach out to your child's teacher.
