Arrival Concerns UPDATED!!!!!
Last week, the following information was in the CCE S'more. It came to my attention that we had a very close call this week. A mother and her children were nearly hit walking into the building by a parent who chose to park instead of using the car loop. As an administrator, this is one of my biggest fears. Please, for the safety of our students, use the car loop unless you are volunteering or have a meeting in the building.
With the beginning of winter weather, we are having many families skip the car loop line, park in front of the building and ask their children to walk to the crosswalk in order to enter the building. For the safety of our children, please refrain from parking and having your children use the crosswalk unless you are going into the building for a meeting or to volunteer.
- The amount of pedestrian traffic at the crosswalk is not safe.
- Some adults (with and without children) are crossing before staff are able to stop traffic to cross pedestrians.
- Continually stopping the car loop for walkers make the car loop last longer for everyone.
Thank you!
