Endangered Species

Why I Choose Endangered Species
I choose Endangered Species because I have always loved animals and I would never try to hurt them. When I was a kid I used to find animals in my pond or outside of my house or in my tree's. Animals don't deserve to be mistreated or even die.
Why Do People Kill These Animals?
Most of these animals are hunted because people need it for food and other things to live. Some cultures may use animals for certien things.
What You Can Do To Help
Be green! Reduce, reuse and recycle as much as possible to help protect the planet that we share with animals and all other living creatures.
Shop wisely. Don’t buy products or souvenirs that are made from animals parts like ivory, reptile skin or fur.
Stuff you probably didn't know
- Since the Act was enacted in 1973, 9 species have gone extinct and 14 have recovered enough to be taken off the list.
- As many as 30 to 50 percent of all species are possibly heading toward extinction by mid-century.
- A species is declared extinct after many years of not being spotted. Because it takes so long to define an entire species as extinct, it is probable that there are many species already gone that we are unaware of.
- The Endangered Species Act of 1973 (ESA) protects registered endangered species by removing them from the “take” list, which makes it unlawful for a person to shoot, harm, capture, trap, or attempt any such actions to the species.
