Three reasons why Andrew was a hero.
- Andrew Jackson fought many wars. In the war of 1812, Andrew Jackson served as a colonel of the Tennessee militia. He was a leader of this troops and he lead them to victory that he earned the name “Old Hickory”.
- He was a hero because he never gave up, for example, even when standing up for what he believed it could have cost Andrew Jackson his presidency. He choose the will of the people over fame.
- Andrew Jackson was the leader of the new democratic party. Jackson declared himself to be the party of ordinary farmers and workers. He opposed the special privileges of economic elites. He offered affordable western land to ordinary white Americans, Indians needed to be forced further westward.
