From the Office

Happy New Year! It was great having students back in the building this week. We know that this school year has been full of changes and sometimes it can feel a bit overwhelming. Please feel free to reach out to our main office at anytime if we can be of assistance. We are grateful to be able to partner with you to provide each student with the best possible learning environment and we truly appreciate your flexibility and patience as we navigate these unchartered waters together!

New In-Person Learning Model - Begins January 19, 2021

On Tuesday, January 19th, we will begin a new In-Person Learning Model at Westfield, allowing students to follow their current 9-period student schedule and physically change classroom locations each period on days that students attend In-Person Learning. The current Building Schedule will continue to be utilized for all students.

Key aspects of the New In-Person Model beginning on January 19th:

  • What do students need for in-person learning?
  • Social distancing, mask wearing, cleaning of surfaces, and frequent hand washing/sanitizing will be practiced.
  • All students attending In-Person learning must have a health pre-certification form completed by their parents through Raptor each day that they attend In-Person learning.

  • A/B rotations will continue to be utilized in order to meet room capacity limits and maintain 6 foot distancing requirements.

  • Staggered passing times and hallway traffic patterns will be utilized between classes to maintain social distancing.

  • Students will often be with a different group of classmates each period of the day.

  • Lockers and Locker rooms will not be used. (students will not change for PE)

  • Students will be asked to hang coats and bags on their chair during class.

A/B Group Designation for In-Person Learning

Today, emails were sent out to both students and their parents/guardians, informing students of their Group A or Group B designation if they chose In-Person Learning starting the week of January 19th. If you have any questions or concerns with the designation, please contact the main office at 630-529-6211 and we will do our best to assist you.

Full Remote Learning - Starting January 19th

If your student will be part of the Full Remote group starting with the week of January 19th, they should continue to follow their current class schedule while attending remotely, unless otherwise notified by a staff member. The current Building Schedule will continue to be utilized for all students.
