Weekly Message, November 6, 2022

Good evening, this is Mr. Andriolo calling to share important information about school and the upcoming week.

There is no school on Tuesday, November 8 because of Election Day. Also, there is no school on Friday, November 11 to honor Veteran’s Day.

Our new Raffle Fundraiser continues. A flier was sent home that allows you to purchase tickets. The tickets are $10 each. There are opportunities to win three prizes. Be sure to check out the flier for more info. The drawing for the winners will be on Friday, November 18th. Please consider supporting this fundraiser.

With two days off from school this week, we will encourage students to continue reading at home. To help with this and make sure all students have access to newer books, we have three Book Nooks at the Murkland. One is in front of the school near our Buddy Bench. This can be accessed at any time. The other two are in the building. Feel free to encourage your child to borrow a book from our Book Nooks.

That’s all for this week. I hope you have a great week…and remember to ask your child what they learned at the Murkland every day - and please, don’t let them tell you nothing!

Good evening, this is Mr. Andriolo calling to share important information about school and the upcoming week.

Our After School Program begins this Monday for grades 1 & 2 and Tuesday for grades 3 & 4. If your child is attending, you should have received a notice from us. If you signed your child up for the program, but didn’t receive a notice, please call us on Monday. The after school program ends at 4:45. Please work to arrive promptly between 4:40 – 4:45 to pick up your child.

Progress reports are heading home mid week. Please review that report with your child. After you’ve reviewed the report, please sign it and send it back to school with your child. It’s important that you sign and return the progress report so teachers know you reviewed it.

The Murkland currently has the best student attendance for all elementary schools in Lowell. Our attendance rate is 94.6%. Thank you for your support with this. If your child isn’t in school by 8:45, it’s very likely you will receive a call from Murkland staff checking in. Please continue to do all you can to send your child to school, each day. Good attendance is so important for a child’s future. It’s simple, a child who is in school more, learns more.

That’s all for now, remember to ask your child what they learned at the Murkland every day…and please, don’t let them tell you nothing!
