Tuesday Times
Havelock North Primary School 2nd March 2021
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Kia ora koutou,
Here we go again, with Level 2 restrictions back in place for this week. Everyone knows the drill by now and at Level 2 it is business as usual, although parents are encouraged to drop children at the gate if possible. Parents entering the site must scan in using the Covid Tracing app or sign the classroom register. Thank you.
Please keep your children at home if they are unwell. Normal safety and hygiene measures will be in place. These include;
- Physical distancing (not touching and not breathing on each other at Alert Level 2)
- Hand hygiene
- Cough and sneeze etiquette
- Regularly cleaning and disinfecting high touch surfaces.
Learning Conferences are still on starting today, Tuesday (2nd March) and tomorrow (Wednesday 3rd March) from 3:20 - 6:30 pm both nights. To book for your conference please visit email your child's class teacher as the online bookings have now closed off.
As these are 10 minute conferences, school will not close early on either day.
Hopefully this week will see the end of the road works on Campbell Street. Thank you for your patience with this as I know how hard parking has been around the school.
Please note that Friday 19th March is a holiday for students. All local state schools have a Teacher Only day to work on curriculum development.
Have a great week everyone.
Regards
Nick Reed

Supper Club
We are calling for a list of volunteers who can be called on a couple of times a year to contribute.
The families in need are normally nominated by someone and we then arrange to have the meals collected by the family or delivered to their home.
We wish to respect the privacy of families receiving meals and baking so we will be keeping this information confidential.
Havelock North New World have provided silver trays and labels, you can collect these from the hall to put the food into.
For those keen to support, but not keen on cooking, a bought family pie and frozen vegetables are always welcome.
If you are able to assist in supporting The Supper Club, please email Sophie Sowman who is organising this at sophie@archerfoods.nz who will be in touch with more details. It’s an easy feel good club we’d love you to put your hand up for.
Thank you!
HNPS LEGO Club would LOVE any LEGO donations!
A team of LEGO enthusiasts in Year 5 are establishing HNPS's first LEGO Club and they would LOVE any LEGO that you may have at home. The perfect opportunity to Marie Kondo your LEGO to a fantastic cause... even a small donation would be really appreciated, every brick counts!
Please contact Hannah Coltart hannahcoltart@gmail.com if you have any LEGO you are able to donate. The first club session is to run on Friday 12th March. Thank you!

Chugs
Chugs is our Friday morning running club run by one of our wonderful mums, Hannah Du Plessis parkeshannah@hotmail.com
We meet at 7.20am at the school hall, ready to run at 7.30am after a few dynamic stretches and lots of frivolity! Breakfast afterwards, bring your cereal (in a lidded container, along with a spoon please) and we’ll supply the milk. Or pre-made smoothies are a super easy option.
If it’s wet and we call it off, I will email you all on these addresses before 6:30am. No email means we’re running.
Please email Hannah if you’d like to know more about this wonderful opportunity.
