Knowledge to me is growing up, learning from your mistakes, and becoming a better person in general. Throughout the book, the creature learns many things about life, and slowly starts to grasp the concept from right and wrong. "Learn from me, if not by my precepts, at least by my example, how dangerous is the acquirement of knowledge and how much happier that man is who believes his native town to be the world, than he who aspires to become greater than his nature will allow." Chapter 4, pg. 38 The creature here learns what true knowledge is and how it can be dangerous. This is important, because it will groom him to become a better part of society, and take action.

"Flash of lightning illuminated the object and discovered its shape plainly to me; its gigantic stature, and the deformity of its aspect, more hideous than belongs to humanity, instantly informed me that it was the wretch, the filthy demon to whom he had given life." Chapter 7, pg. 60 The creature here learns that he is hideous, and that his creator has abandoned him in life. He has much hate for victor for making him wretch, and continues learning more about his life.

Victor faces many challenges in life after his creation. He thought the creature would be great to have around, but soon learns it ruined his entire life. He got rid of it, but runs into it and explains how he lived on his own without a mentor in life. "we are unfashioned creatures, but half made up, if one wiser, better, dearer than ourselves -- such a friend ought to be -- do not lend his aid to perfectionate our weak and faulty natures." Letter 4, pg. 14 This quote is from victors letter. It explains how everyone is unique and different from others.
