News and Notes for Teachers- November 19
Dear Staff
We have a short 2 day week before Thanksgiving. I just want you to know how thankful I am for all that you do for our students and each other. It is a pleasure to work with such a dedicated hardworking group. We have AVID site meeting on Monday and a potluck on Tuesday. Hope you have a wonderful restful Thanksgiving with family and friends.

Inclement Weather School Closure Notifications
As we work to continually improve and streamline our processes for getting the word out in the event of a school/district closure, 2-hour delay, or early release of students due to inclement weather, we have made the following determinations regarding our notification methods: We will be initiating an automated call and e-mail to all families in addition to posting the information on District and school websites, Facebook, Twitter, and to our District App. We will also send the information out through FlashAlert. Further, there will be an e-mail to all staff; however, we will not be calling all staff members. Inclement weather reporting procedures for all staff types are available on the Staff Links page of our district website.

Quote
“If we want our students to actually learn the facts and concepts and ideas we’re trying to teach them, they have to experience those things in some way that rises above abstract words on paper. They have to process them. Manipulate them. To really learn in a way that will stick, they have to DO something… When we do little more than have students copy down information or fill out worksheets, we are making school an awful place to be.”
